The Moms Club of Overlook invites you to attend its presentation to the Board of Directors of a petition to build a new playground next to the clubhouse on Birds View Lane, where the tot lot and sand volleyball court are currently located. As most homeowners know, the recreation space next to the clubhouse has been unusable for the past three years due to a recurring infestation of sand wasps that can only be resolved by removal of the sand. Several children were stung by wasps last summer while playing in the adjacent tot lot. A group of homeowners, together with the Moms Club, has initiated a petition to build a new playground for 5-12 year olds (Overlook currently has only tot lots suitable for 1-5 year olds), that is also compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (none of the existing tot lots are ADA compliant). The Moms Club will be presenting the signed petition to the Board of Directors at the May Board Meeting, and the Recreation Committee will be presenting the architectural drawings of the proposed playground. There will be an opportunity for homeowners to provide feedback on the petition and drawings during the May Board Meeting to be held at the Clubhouse on May 20th at 7:30pm. Please come and share your thoughts. A meeting of owners (as per section 2.02 of the Declaration of Covenants) will be convened at the time of the June Board Meeting to be held at the Clubhouse on June 17th at 7:30 pm to vote on a finalized proposal that reflects homeowner feedback, so that if approved the playground construction can proceed this summer.
